Partners

These are the partner organisations we are working with to improve the Navigation from Keadby to Nottingham and to increase boating numbers thus helping economic growth through increased visitor numbers. We will be adding to these partners as we replicate our successes and we look foward to building long term positive collaborations with anyone or organisations who would like to work with us.

We have a working partnership for our volunteer navigation working groups and we have a joint collaboration with the first of its kind ‘River Watch’ scheme in Newark on Trent.

The Boating Association was set up over 70 years ago to promote co-operation and comradeship between all river users and all associated waterways, to ensure the extension, development and improvement of these waterways and of their facilities and amenities so as to make the waterways safer and more pleasant. The Boating Association represents the collective individual interests of all Members in all matters relating to boating and the use of the waterways.

Newark Heritage Barge this barge is the base for the River Heritage centre and moored at Newark Town Wharf during the summer and open to the public and for use by schools, research students and other interested groups. The displays show how barges were built and repaired here and how men worked the Trent from the days of sail to the present day and show the skills involved.

Newark in bloom were the first partner organisation to work on the presentation of Newark Town Lock and its floral appearance and cleanliness and engage with other bloom organisations along the network to take ownership of other locks under TrentLink’s ‘Friends Of’ initiative.
